Professional Bio
Jim Walter, CDME is the Vice President of Visit Cheyenne, the official Destination Marketing Organization of Laramie County, WY. For more than 25 years Walter has been creating economic development in communities through the visitor economy. A graduate of St. Bonaventure University, he led the tourism initiatives of Madison County, NY through destination weddings, agritourism and a budding craft beverage scene. In 2013 he moved to Wyoming to sell conventions for Visit Cheyenne.
In his current role at Visit Cheyenne, Walter oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization as the right hand to the CEO. He is the rodeo program manager overseeing both the Frozen Fury on the Plains, and the Hell on Wheels Rodeo and Chuck Wagon Dinner Series. Walter is the proud father a talented daughter Loriana and is married to Stacie, and they enjoy travel, great whiskey, craft beer and good wines together.
